WordFlow is a free, browser-based word counter and text analysis tool provided "as is" and "as available". The information, counts, and tools on this site are intended for general informational and productivity purposes only.

By using WordFlow, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this disclaimer, and that you accept its terms. If you do not accept these terms, please discontinue use of the Service.

2. Accuracy of Information

All metrics produced by WordFlow — including word counts, character counts, sentence counts, paragraph counts, reading time, speaking time, syllable counts, and readability scores — are algorithmic approximations. They are designed to be useful, not to be legally or academically authoritative.

• Reading time is estimated at approximately 200 words per minute, an accepted average for adult readers of English prose. Actual reading speed varies significantly by reader, content complexity, language, and purpose.
• Speaking time is estimated at approximately 130 words per minute, a typical conversational or presentation pace. Actual speaking rate depends on the speaker, context, and content.
• Readability scores (Flesch–Kincaid grade level) are statistical estimates and may not reflect the actual difficulty of a text for all readers or audiences.
• Word tokenisation uses whitespace and punctuation boundaries. Edge cases — such as hyphenated compounds, contractions, numbers with units, or script-specific punctuation — may produce counts that differ slightly from a manual count or from other tools.
• Sentence and paragraph detection is heuristic. Unusual punctuation, dialogue formatting, or unconventional structure may affect accuracy.

WordFlow makes no warranty, express or implied, regarding the absolute precision of any computed metric. For purposes where precision is critical, always verify results independently.

3. No Professional Advice

WordFlow is a writing utility, not a substitute for professional editorial, linguistic, academic, or legal review.

• Academic submissions: If your institution or assignment specifies a word-count limit, verify your submission's count using your institution's recommended tool (e.g. Microsoft Word, Google Docs) before submitting. Different tools may count words differently.
• Legal documents: Word or character limits in contracts, regulatory filings, or legal submissions should be verified by a qualified legal professional using the tool specified in the relevant requirement.
• Publishing: Publishers and content platforms may use different word-count methodologies. Confirm requirements with the relevant publisher.

5. Third-Party Resources

WordFlow loads the following resources from third-party providers to deliver the interface:

• Google Analytics 4 / Google Tag (googletagmanager.com, google-analytics.com) — aggregate traffic and usage measurement. Google's Privacy Policy applies.
• Google Fonts (fonts.googleapis.com) — DM Sans and DM Serif Display typefaces. Google's own Privacy Policy and terms apply.
• Font Awesome CDN (cdnjs.cloudflare.com) — Icon library assets served via Cloudflare's CDN. Cloudflare's terms apply.
• jsPDF (loaded via CDN) — Used only for client-side PDF generation when you use the Download as PDF feature. No user text is transmitted externally.

WordFlow is not responsible for the availability, performance, or practices of any third-party service. If a third-party CDN is unavailable, parts of the WordFlow interface (fonts or icons) may not display correctly, though the core text-analysis functionality will continue to work.

6. No Guarantee of Availability

WordFlow is provided free of charge with no service-level agreement or uptime guarantee. We make no commitment that the Service will be available continuously, without interruption, or free from errors.

• The site may be temporarily unavailable due to scheduled maintenance, unplanned technical issues, hosting provider outages, or any other reason.
• Features may be added, changed, or removed at any time without prior notice.
• No compensation or credit will be provided for any period of unavailability.

We recommend saving your work locally if you rely on WordFlow for time-sensitive tasks.

7. User Responsibility

You are solely responsible for the text and content you paste into or create within WordFlow. In particular:

• You must ensure that the content you process using WordFlow does not infringe any third-party intellectual property rights, privacy rights, or applicable laws.
• You must ensure that your use of WordFlow complies with all applicable local, national, and international laws and regulations.
• You are responsible for the accuracy and legality of any work you produce using WordFlow as an aid.

WordFlow does not store, transmit, or process user-entered text on any server. All text analysis occurs entirely within your browser. However, this does not reduce your responsibility for the content you choose to process.

8. Errors and Omissions

While we make reasonable efforts to ensure that WordFlow is accurate and functional, the tool may contain errors, bugs, or edge-case behaviours that produce unexpected results.

• WordFlow disclaims any liability for errors, inaccuracies, or omissions in the tool's output.
• The tool is under active development and its behaviour may change between versions.
• If you discover a bug or unexpected result, we welcome bug reports via our GitHub Issues page.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, WordFlow and its contributors, maintainers, and associated parties shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages — including but not limited to:

• Loss of data, documents, or drafts
• Loss of income, profit, or business opportunity
• Academic or professional penalties arising from reliance on approximate counts
• Any other loss or damage arising from your use of, or inability to use, the Service

This limitation applies regardless of whether such damages were foreseeable or whether we were advised of their possibility. Use of WordFlow is entirely at your own risk.

This disclaimer may be updated at any time, with or without prior notice. The "Last updated" date shown at the top of this page will always reflect when it was most recently revised.

For significant changes — for example, if new features introduce server-side processing or data collection — we will post a notice on the WordFlow homepage.
