Privacy Policy

Last updated: 15 May 2026

The short version

  • What you type into the word counter stays in your browser for processing — we don't receive your draft text for counting.
  • We use Google Analytics 4 (Google Tag) for aggregate site usage: page views, device type, and similar metrics — not the words you write.
  • No ads on WordFlow. We don't sell your personal information.

What we store on your device

WordFlow uses your browser's localStorage to save a few small things locally. Your draft is not sent to us for word counting:

  • Your draft text — so if you accidentally close the tab, it can come back when you return.
  • UI preferences — for example textarea height and similar settings.

You can clear this anytime through your browser's site settings ("Clear site data" or "Clear cookies and storage").

Analytics (Google Analytics 4)

We use Google Analytics 4, loaded via Google's tag scripts, to understand how many people use WordFlow and which pages they open. Google processes this as a third-party service. Typical data may include:

  • Pages viewed, approximate region, device and browser type
  • Referrer or campaign information
  • Aggregated engagement metrics (for example how long sessions last in the aggregate)

How Google uses data is described in the Google Privacy Policy. You can limit collection using browser settings, privacy extensions, or options Google documents for Analytics.

The text you type into the counter is not sent to Google Analytics. Counting runs locally in your browser; the analytics script measures site traffic when pages load.

What we don't do

  • We don't send your word-counter text to our servers for analysis.
  • We don't use advertising pixels (for example Meta/Facebook Pixel).
  • We don't show third-party advertisements on the site.
  • We don't sell, rent, or trade your personal information.
  • We don't require an account to use the core tool.

About cookies and similar storage

localStorage holds your draft and UI settings for this site only, until you clear it. Google Analytics may set cookies or use similar browser storage as described by Google. Fonts and icons may load from third-party CDNs; see the disclaimer for those providers.

How long data is kept

localStorage on your device remains until you clear it. Data held by Google Analytics is retained according to Google's product settings and policies.

Your choices

  • Clear local draft data: your browser's privacy or site settings.
  • Limit analytics: block third-party scripts, use a privacy browser, or follow Google's guidance for opting out of Google Analytics.

Changes to this policy

If we change anything meaningful, we'll update the "Last updated" date at the top. For bigger changes — for example, switching analytics providers — we'll put a notice on the homepage for a reasonable period.
